We have certified plumbers to install and test backflow prevention devices.
If you own a commericial building, such as a business, resturant, apartment, condo or other facility you may have received a letter from your water company. Most public buildings require a backflow prevention device to be installed at each cross connection. The backflow prevention devices need tested annually to ensure contamination does not occur.
What is backflow?
Backflow occurs if the water in your plumbing system becomes reversed, and backs into the clean water. This causes contamination. A properly installed, tested and maintained backflow preventor will help avoid this situation.
Why is backflow prevention your responsibility?
The water utility compnay is responsible for the water, until it goes beyond the meter. Once the water hits your plumbing, the water company does not want it back. Also, your neighbors wouldn't be happy if your contaminated water was being pushed back into their systems. In other words, keep your water to yourself, and prevent contamination by complying with your local municipal codes!
If you are intersted in backflow prevention or have questions, we have certified backflow testers and equipment on hand. Please call us at 717-938-2521 to get scheduled.
